When Coach Karen Mackin
started working with Donnie Hall, his primary goal for the season was to
complete a Half Ironman race when he turned 50. It just so happens that
the Half Ironman he chose, Timberman 70.3, in Gilford, NH fell exactly on that
birthday. When he signed up for the race, he also signed up for the
lottery to race the Ironman World Championship at Kona and that birthday luck
must have been working for him, because he won a ticket to Kona. The one
thing he had to do, was to prove he could complete the Timberman 70.3. And that, he did, this past weekend. He had a fantastic swim, a
solid bike and a great steady consistent run. Off to Kona! Congratulations Donnie.
