Eric Larson and his team put on a demonstration in
team tactics at last week’s 35+ 4/5 field at the Fayetteville Stage Race in
Texas with Eric winning the overall by over 2 minutes!
Saturday’s road race, where Eric did a bunch of work
to bring back an early attack, ended in a bunch sprint with everyone in the
front group getting the same finish time.
Later that day Eric suffered some mechanical
problems in the TT finishing a minute down on some strong competition.
The final stage on Sunday saw 20-30 mph winds on the
oval shaped course with mostly crosswinds hitting the field.
Eric and his team waited for the first steep climb
and the whole team hit the front shattering the field and dragging only one
other rider with them. They set to work and built up a solid 4 minute lead
after 30 miles and finishing with over 8 minutes on the closest chasing group.
Eric took the overall win after finishing in the
front group and then overhauling the GC leaders with some awesome team riding.
Congratulations, Eric!
