Here is a recap of the race from Chinmoy, “An epic end to an epic race. An amazing race. I managed to stick in the peloton without too much trouble. Speeds were pretty much high ranging from 30 kph to an epic 60-62 kph. I, however was not used to eating while riding and I bonked (I didn't realize at that point) at the U-turn point. After that it was pretty much a solo race. Almost everyone overtook me at that point and I let them. After a point I realized that I had bonked and I took in a gel. Immediately I felt better and put in a strong chase. I chased everyone down who overtook me. But the worst was yet to come. Nandi Hills. This was the ultimate sufferfest. I was dead tired after 93 kms and I wanted to quit so many times (10 to be precise) but I didn't. I pushed hard with legs threatening to cramp. After curve no. 35 I knew it was a mental game and tried my best to go hard. With the finish line in sight I sprinted to the top and I nearly collapsed. I was pretty surprised later to find out that I had finished 4th place in the U-18 category. So yeah, quite happy with that. :)”
