Several PCG athletes complete their first Virtual Race

Several PCG athletes complete their first Virtual Race Three of the team members of Impetu Ciclismo Femenino team successfully completed their first virtual race on the Zwift Platform. Since the lock down started in Puerto Rico on March 16, riders Yunaika Leyva (CUB), Marisol Tellado (PUR) and Deborah Vega (PUR) have been training exclusively indoors, coached by PCG Coach Axel B Santiago. The race they took part of was the “Swedish Zwift Racing Cup Women by SZR”. The venue was Central Park in NYC, 3 laps in the “Park Perimeter Reverse” route. The race was chosen based on their training cycle, as their “rest” week and FTP tests were completed a few days before the race. Also, based on the availability of the racers to participate while complying with their other responsibilities: work and family. Yunaika ended in the 9th position with 3.4 w/kg, Marisol ended in the 17th position with 3.4 w/kg and Deborah ended in the 24th position with 3.2 w/kg. The race winners were from Finland (3.4 W/kg), Sweden (3.8 W/kg), and United Kingdom (3.8 W/kg).
