This past weekend PCG athlete Robb Herrick (on the left) coached by Earl Zimmerman not only competed in his first 70.3, he competed in his fist ever Triathlon in Napa Valley at the Napa Valley Triathlon. Not the easiest bike course with over 3000ft. of elevation gain. For the past 8 years, his main focus has been Road Racing and Trime Trail. His Triathlon journey only began 18 months ago. He came out of the water 18th overall, after T2 he was 16th overall. Robb got a little over eager in the first 5 miles of the run, a combination of not consuming enough fluids on the bike, and the faster than normal pace on the run, resulted in some leg cramping. Robb in his first ever 70.3 finished in 6:27:51, managing to get 2nd in his age group. Robb is ready to take what he has learned and apply it to his next Ironman in the fall! Congratulations Robb!
