At the Devilman Duathlon in New Jersey this weekend, Evelyn
Egizi crushed the women’s field to not just finish first in her age group but
first overall for women along with finishing 12th overall in the
whole field.
After wondering if she would be able to race due to some
back and hip pain this week, Ev got off to a flying start with the first 2 mile
run clocking 8:30 miles.
First onto the bike Evelyn was able to make use of her years
as a bike racer to open the lead up even more finishing the bike leg with an 11
minute lead on second place going into the final 4 mile run.
Not wanting to blow up or aggravate the back/hip issues, Ev
cruised the final leg to just maintain the huge lead she had built to the
finish.
