PCG athlete, Sanders Rodríguez (15 years old) and his father, Santos, won the first place in the National Category (one day race) in the Punta a Punta event, held in San Germán, Puerto Rico, on Sunday September 1st.

The event covered near 50 miles, including a lot of steeps climbs (road and off-road), and river crossings in the historic town of San Germán and surrounding towns. This is Sander's first experience in a MTB endurance race. This is part of his preparation for his future career as a cyclist.

Now he'll be focusing his training on an Xterra triathlon, to be held in November. Sanders father used to be a runner and now is an amateur cyclist who fully supports Sanders in all his events.

Congratulations to Sanders and his father!
