At masters nationals in Bend, OR, Gary Painter
repeated as national time trial champion in the 55-59 age group. Gary has
had another solid season with both age group and overall wins, including the
overall Indiana State TT Championship, but the real objective was to lay down
the fastest time in the nation again, to win the stars and stripes for a second
year in a row. The pressure was on this year since everyone was gunning
for him, but he pulled it off. There is no rest for the champion though
as he travels to Trevino Italy to compete in the masters Word Championships in
less than two weeks.
