It's time to upgrade!!! Ben Woodside Won!
the Master Cat 5 35+ @ Leesville Gap RR in Williams, CA on July 6th. The ref combined the 4's and 5's. It was a hot, over 90 degrees at the start of
the race. He moved up at the base of the
first climb and held a strong steady pace and was 30 seconds behind a group of
5, I began to chase, but a teammate held me back. We probably should have gone for it as we
stayed 30 second behind them for the remainder of the race. At the summit we formed a 3 man chase with
the moto ref giving us updates of our position.
We were going through water quickly and was empty on the last climb,
crossing our fingers for neutral water, had to shop, but grabbed a couple and
motored on. 2.5 hours into the race and
the chase group behinds cracked and we were slowly gaining on the first
group. He sprinted for the finish only
to see if he could after racing for 3 hours, nipped a guy for 1st place!!!!
Congratulations Ben!!! It's been an
awesome season of racing. The Death Ride
should be "easy"
