PCG athlete, Sunny Gill, riding for the US Military
Cycling Team, scored a well-earned win in the Cat 2-3 race at the USAF Cycling
Classic Clarendon Cup.
Sunny attacked the field after a prime with about 5
laps to go and held a 10 second gap until one rider bridged up from the pack. The
two riders held onto a 4 second gap with half of the technical final lap with
one rider making a last ditch attempt to catch the break. Sunny opened his
sprint with about 100 meters to go and took the win with hands in the air.
Sunny has been riding the last two years with the
US Military Team and has picked up some great experience in high level races,
but this was his first win in a while.
