The Tour de
Maurice is a seven day stage race in Mauritius, a small island nation in the
Indian Ocean (2000k off the African coast).
His team won the team time trial as Alan crossed the line first to wear
yellow into Stage 2. Alan then battled
eventual 5-time winner Yannick Lincoln in the remaining six stages. Alan took the victory in Stage 6 and came in
2nd on Stage 7 to Yannick Lincoln to finish 2nd overall in the Tour! This was a big goal for Alan and he’s
incredibly pleased with this result, which is a big improvement from his 5th
overall last year. Alan said he could
not have done it without his teammates at Ownsurance-V Office, so it was a
total team effort by all.
