This past weekend, PCG Athletes Nico
Bell (PCG Coach Brig Brandt) and Gawie Combrinck (PCG Coach Hunter Allen) took
on Mtn. Clarens and finished 2nd and 4th respectively.
After the race, Combrinck spoke to his
coach and had this to say about the race, "Felt great again today. Took
the KOM and was in the front when the move went. Just couldn't stay there,
struggled trough a very technical section with super steep climbs again that
you had to run up. Just didn't get traction. Was with Nico after that and we
were bringing the two leaders back again. Then with 25km to we hit more of
those steep loose climbs and Nico rode away from me there and managed to catch
them ending second and I was 4th."
PCG Coach Brig Brandt had this to say
about Nico's performance, "Way to go Nico Bell of South Africa for a very
solid race over the weekend. Nico was the 2nd elite man to cross the line at
Claren's stop of the UCI World Marathon Series. After 4+ hours of racing he
trailed the winner by less than 30 seconds."
Awesome job, Nico & Gawie!
