Congratulations to Erwin Vanhaecke on his podium finish, and great job Coach Rickey Wray Wilson! Check out what Coach Ricky Wray had to say about the race.

Great day of racing for Team Elevate Racing team member and Peaks Coaching Group athlete, Erwin Vanhaecke! In his very first Texas Criterium Championship, he takes 2nd place in a hotly contested finish with Albert Sweany taking 1st place! Congratulations to them both, with Stan Kruse coming in 3rd! The morning dawned ominously with rain, thunder, and lightning and the race start postponed by an hour. Thankfully by then, the course was mostly dry with some puddles on the cobblestone sections making for some sketchy corners! No accidents, thank goodness. Combined with the Juniors 10-18, a couple of 16 year old, Cat 3 and National Champions set a blistering pace, putting more than a minute on the 60+ and eventually lapping them. The 60s and above settled into a brisk, steady pace turning in low 2+ minute laps until the final 2 laps when things start to get a little hot! Albert launched his rocket ship attack with Erwin giving it all he had, and Stan a little ways back. All three were well ahead of the rest of the pace. Way to go to all racers, great job!
