Bikepacking is an ultra endurance sport with pure personal
reward, it's the accomplishment of crossing the finish line without a cheering
crowd, podium or medals. Troy Hopwood concurred the 2017 BC1000km (646 miles) coming in
3rd with a time of 4 days and 10 hours. In 2016 he had to bail out with severe
stomach cramps.
These events are fully unsupported, in the wilderness, having
to navigate the terrain on your own while finding places to eat, drink and
