After competing in the Cohasset Triathlon and beating his
personal record by a minute, athlete Tim Whitney reported “[feeling] the best
ever.” Whitney was thrilled to place third in his age group on the June 29th
race, no small feat considering that the race garnered over 1000 athletes from
all over the U.S. Prior to this event, Whitney had taken a break from
“Tri” focus training and instead was focused on competing in his first marathon
. His Peaks coach, Karen Mackin often recommends periods of “single
sport” focus as a means to improve overall triathlon results. In an email
to Coach Karen, Tim Whitney exclaimed “marathon training made a difference!” Congratulations Tim!
