PCG Coach: Karen Mackin
Bruce Rychlik rides Pan Mass Challenge
The Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) is a
ride across Massachusetts to raise money for cancer research and treatment at
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. On August 2nd, 2012 Bruce Rychlik started his
(+ A LOT MORE!). Bruce explained,
"The PMC was Saturday and Sunday (192miles) but some of us added more on
to it on the Thursday and Friday before."
"I ended up riding 386 miles in four days!" It was this event (but 3 years prior - in
2009) that led Bruce to hire his coach, Karen Mackin. He wanted to suffer less and enjoy the event
more (i.e. keep up with his riding partners more easily). Every year he is able to do more, and, do it
faster. As he was describing the most
challenging day (Friday) he said "I rode with 6 guys - all very strong - I
got separated on two hills but stayed with the front on all the rest which was
an improvement over years past!, we would all regroup at the top and rode in
together." Great riding - and for
a great cause!
