With a couple of seasons of Triathlon behind him, Greg Nercessian is going big in 2012.  It will be a season of training and racing culminating with his first Ironman distance race at ChesapeakeMan in September.  To start the racing off this season, Greg took part in The Columbia Triathlon this past weekend (May 20th) and rocked to a 10min PB at the Olympic distance on what many say is the hardest Olympic distance course in the region.

"Strategy worked great. I found a swimmer on the last 750m that I drafted. What a difference!!!  The bike and subsequent nutrition worked very well. I had a gel at :20:00 and :50:00 along with a water bottle filled with half gatorade half water.
The run was an eye opener through the first set of hills.  I was going by feel without the HR or GPS monitor. I'm happy with the time considering the terrain but if I was going to suffer that much I'd rather be in the 7:00min/mi range :-)"

Next up is Eagleman 70.3m for Greg and then it is all preparation for Ironman at the end of the season.

Awesome start to the year!
