Just wanted to let you know that I competed in the USAT Draft Legal Sprint yesterday and finished on the podium in second by only 36 seconds. It was so much fun. I hooked up with some girls who asked me to draft with them so I did,,, as it turns out I knew more about drafting than either of them did so it worked, we helped each other and boy did my legs enjoy the brief 30s relief when not pulling.
It was amazing!!... and of course I would not have been able to draft or climb without the expert assistance Lee and Hunter provided for me last summer at camp and at all those weeks of 4 hour sessions cycling, learning how to draft, climb and the other necessary cycling skills to effectively ride and race my bike!!
Additionally, it was a very technical course consisting of of three 4 mile loops that each had two 180 turns and eight 90 degree turns, many falling after a fast descent from the hills. Got to use all skills on this course, and had fun with the counter movement on all the turns also!! So thank you all for all your expert training, so much appreciated!! Looking forward to coming there again soon and definitely for the skills camp in the spring....
