Bikepacking is an ultra endurance sport with pure personal reward, it's the accomplishment of crossing the finish line without a cheering crowd, podium or medals. Troy Hopwood concurred the 2017 BC1000km (646 miles) coming in 3rd with a time of 4 days and 10 hours. In 2016 he had to bail out with severe stomach cramps.

These events are fully unsupported, in the wilderness, having to navigate the terrain on your own while finding places to eat, drink and sleep. Check out Troy's fully loaded machine, picture taken at the start of 2016. Troy is coached by PCG Elite/Master coach Earl Zimmerman
