Eddie Stern Wins Silver in Israel

Eddie Stern Wins Silver Metal in Individual Time Trial at 2017 Macabbi Games in Israel.

The podium visits for PCG Athlete, Eddie Stern, continued this weekend on a global stage.  Representing Team USA, Eddie won a silver medal in the individual time trial (50+) and placed 7^th in the overall field.  Exactly two weeks ago, Eddie suffered a severe shoulder separation from a crash racing the road race at the Syracuse Omnium.  Having won the individual time trial at the Syracuse Omnium the day before, the prospects for Eddie competing in his major race in Israel, seemed much in doubt.  Eddie, dug deep and proved grit and determination breed success. 

 Next up for Eddie is the Macabbi Road Race (82km) later this week.  The Macabbi Games are patterned after the Olympic Games.  Jewish athletes from around the world come to Israel to compete in a multitude of events, including cycling.  The first Macabbi Games were held in 1932 and this year marks the 20^th Macabbi Games.
