When Donnie Hall hired Peaks
Coaching Group Coach, Karen Mackin, he had no idea that his very first year of
triathlons would take him all the way to the Ironman World Championship
in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. But that it did (with a little luck at
the lottery). After two other triathlons (a sprint and a 70.3 Half
Ironman), AND a lot of hard work, he was ready to race at the mother of all
triathlons, the Hawaiian Ironman! Not having a lot of experience swimming
and running was a challenge, but Donnie rose to the challenge and with his
coaches help, crafted a "Finish the Ironman Smiling!" race strategy. As you can see from the photo, the strategy worked!
