In
preparation for the upcoming season of Elite Junior Triathlon (Draft-Legal)
Racing, Nathan LaFrance entered the Spring Fling Criterium (Cat 5) at Clinton
Lake near Lawrence, KS on March 15th, 2014. This was his first Criterium race
and found himself a little tense in the first couple of laps until he moved his
way closer to the front of the pack where he stayed for the remainder of the
race. After finishing the race he texted his PCG coach, Karen Mackin to tell her
that he came in 5th place! Upon
receiving the text, Karen immediately called him and the two discussed the
race. Nathan told her how much fun he had and explained that the Bumping Drills
that she had him do really helped because there was a lot of contact in the
race. He went on to say "it was
very interesting because the whole thing was like a game of Chess, with me and
my teammates trying to figure out the best strategy to win!" Congratulations
to Nathan on the 5th place finish and a big shout out to his teammates for
helping him!
