Puerto Rico’s 2012 National Road and TT Champion,
Marisol Tellado, validated herself in 2013 with a dominant performance right from the
get-go in a 91.2km race celebrated in a hot Sunday morning in Coamo’s famous
San Blas Half Marathon 15.2km circuit. Marisol launched a powerful attack right
from the start and was caught a while later. Once she was caught she attacked
once again giving a strong message that she was in for some serious and hard
racing. Her definitive move, however, was on the “Ajoguillo” climb where she
was able to set a strong pace during the first and second lap and went on a
solo for the remaining 4.5 of 6 laps winning with a comfortable 2:15 lead.
