Carter worked hard & kept the KOM jersey all week

Bissell Pro Carter Jones gave cycling fans around the world an exciting week of racing at the Amgen Tour of California.  In the week long stage race, Carter was in four day-long breakaways that challenged the peleton for the win on each day.  In doing so, he won the Polka Dot Jersey as the best climber in the race.  In fact, he wore the jersey from the first stage when he went on the attack for the day and took maximum points on the grueling Palomar Mountain climb.  He then went on with one other rider and only got pulled back within the final 5 km.  On stage 5, Carter went on the attack again for 100 mi and increased his lead in the KOM competition

by taking maximum points again.  On stage 7, Carter made possibly his most impressive move.  With the KOM competition still not decided, and the most grueling "Queen Stage" of the race on tap, he once again went on the offensive inside the first 10 miles and locked up the Polka Dots by taking maximum points on the first two climbs and stayed on the breakaway for 81 miles of the grueling stage.  With that, Jones sealed the KOM competition and etched his name on the race as one of the primary animators.
