Every race has a story!

Charlie, coached by PCG Coach Bill Gros, returned from a vacation in New Zealand and promptly sent an email asking for Bill to talk him out of going to this two-day stage race. He'd lost about 1/3 of his CTL with the extended time off. Bill didn't exactly talk him out of it, nor coerced him into doing it. His season peak is very late this year and so missing this race wouldn't be a factor, but going to race could mean gaining some "good teammate points" with his new team.

Charlie promptly finished 2nd in the opening time trial, and then held on with respectable finishes in both the criterium and the road race to win his category. He was aided by a flat tire suffered by the race leader during the road race which transpired into Charlie's overall win. "That's racin'," as they say.

Congratulations Charlie!
