Troy Hopwood has done several unsupported ultra distance, from 5 - 21 day MTB events, in the past couple of years. 

This year he's starting off with his own creation in the PNW, called XWA, 683 miles and 50,000 feet of climbing. 

He has 20 plus people signed up, they all start the unsupported event on Sunday. Check out the details on his web site; http://crosswashington.weebly.com
