In the first "flat" stage of the USA Pro
Challenge in Colorado, Optum pro Carter Jones opened his account with an
impressive finish to get 4th on the stage. He came in just 3 seconds
behind all rounders Kiel Reijnen (winner) and Alex Howes and 9 seconds in front
of the elite group of 20 GC contenders that came in about one minute ahead of
the peloton. The GC positions will certainly change over the next two
stages with much more climbing with finishes atop Crested Butte and Monarch
Mountain on Stage 3.
