On Sunday, May 4th Timothy Whitney set
out to do his very first marathon in Providence, RI. Not only did he crack the
4 hr mark, but he managed to come in 4th place in his Age Group. His coach,
Karen Mackin felt he was well prepared for the race and for a first time
marathon, did remarkably well avoiding the typical first timer blunders via careful
race prep and planning. The day after
the marathon, Tim commented that he was very happy to have come in 4th place and
that his legs were OK now. First time marathon, 4th place AG time, and legs OK
one day later – I’d say that is success! Congratulations Tim!
