Last week, Gawie Combrinck and teammate Nico Bell
took on the Cape Pioneer Trek in South Africa. Here is Gawie's recount of the
week:
"This past week have been racing at the Bridge
Cape Pioneer trek. This was a 7 day international mountain bike stage race that
covered 534km and 11 516m vertical climbing.
We had some bad luck the first few days with
mechanicals but still managed to fight back to 2nd overall in the tour. We had
two stage wins, two second places and two third place stage finishes.
The race had awesome media coverage with daily
updates on international websites and a 15 min highlights package every night
on Super Sport."
