Wednesday,
Gary Painter held off the defending national champion to claim victory in the
55+ time trial national championship.
Defending National Champ and current road World Champ David Zimbleman started 30 sec behind Gary in the
last position. At the turnaround
Zimbleman had made up the stagger and closed the 30 sec gap to come even with
Gary. Gary kicked in the afterburners in
the second half, though, and opened up the original gap and got and gave it a
bit extra in the closing meters to win by 5 sec.
