On Sunday
Sept 9th 2012, Bruce Rychlik raced at Quad Cross (his very first Cyclocross
race) in Maynard, MA. At the start of
the race he felt... "a bit nervous, I must say – I was in last row!" His goals were simple, "No
falls". As he was explaining that
he met his goal he added, "Although on the first steep pitch it was
crowded – people started falling – I literally had hugged a tree to avoid
falling!" He was quite pleased when
his mounts and dismounts practices paid off and he actually managed at least a
true smooth cyclocross mount after the barriers.
