On July 27th, 2014, Jen Schoenberg had her best Ironman race ever! She completed the full 4k swim (finishing before the race officials began pulling people from the swim due to thunderstorms), the 112 mile Hilly Lake Placid bike course and the marathon in a time of 10 hours 30 minutes and 57 seconds. Resulting in first place in the female, 40-44 AG (8th woman overall) and earning her a spot at Ironman Kona!

Prior to the race, while Jen and PCG Coach Karen Mackin were working out a power pacing plan, Jen explained that this year was going to be the year to really go for it! She would let go of her usual ultra-conservative bike approach. Coach Karen agreed she could push it a little harder but warned about overdoing it. The resulting ride was perfect! She clocked in at 302 TSS and had plenty left in her legs for a fantastic marathon! On to KONA!
