athletes Sam Winters and Scott Wisseman (both coached by Jordan Whiley)
succeeded in making the podium at the Virginia State Championship Hill Climb. Sam
Winters earned a silver medal in the Men's Category 3, while Scott Wisseman, in
his first year of racing, placed 3rd in the Men's Category 5. The State
Championship is held at Wintergreen Ski Resort, considered by many to be the
"Alpe d' Huez" of the East Coast. At 11km and an average grade of 8%,
the climb includes numerous long stretches at 12-14%. Both Sam and Scott paced
themselves expertly and set new personal bests on the climb. Great job, guys!
